Thermal Evaporator for Organic Optoelectronics

Organic optoelectronic materials have been given considerable attention due to their applications in organic light emitting diode (OLED), organic photovoltaics (OPV), organic thin film transistor (OTFT) and many others. Unlike conventional inorganic materials in semiconductors, organic molecular can be designed and synthesized in order to fine-tune its optoelectronic properties for specific application. This feature gives organic optoelectronic materials great advantage over inorganic materials. It's widely believed that organic optoelectronic materials can be applied to manufacturing process in a much cheaper, cleaner and faster manner. Huge resources are invested to the research and commical applications of organic optoelectronic materials. As a result of it, electronic products made with organic optoelectronic materials are gaining visibility.

Organic optoelectronic materials are extremely expensive. 1 gram of organic optoelectronic materials can be as pricy as high purity gold of the same weight. It is important for researchers to maximize research yields with least material costs. Junsun's deposition system is capable of delivering high material utilisation rate and high batch yield. Deposition system alone is not enough to fabircate OLED devices with long lifetime. A strictly controlled inert environment with ultra low moisture atmosphere (H2O and O2 <1.0 ppm) and low particle will be key to make good OLED devices. Junsun is experienced in system integration, creating an enclosed inert environment that incoporates OLED related process altogether: pretreatment of substrate using UV-Ozone or plasma, solution process (inkjet printing or spin coating), substrate baking, vacuum deposition of functional layers, device encapsulation and so on. Please see illustration below. With this kind of system integration, Junsun's platform delivers following benefits:

OLED process
  • High yields in one batch
Each substrate can be deposited with different parameters, users can have maximum 10 test results in 1 batch. This features is important for studying material properties or qualifying device structure .
  • High performance organice evaporation source:
Hot-lip organic evaporation source (HPOC) elimates clogging and improves thickness uniformity.
  • Stable evaporation rate control:
For best rate stability, users should take time developing suitable PID parameters based on material properties. We also provide real-time power output percentage control mode for those who need to frequently evaporate new materials and cannot afford time developing PID parameters.
  • Hardware expandability:
Different OLED process equipment (e.g. inkjet printing, thin film encapsulation) can be docked to glovebox. By so doing, it extends the application of systems.
